With the men’s varsity soccer team playing for the section title, five JV players have joined the roster.

After the JV season ended on OCt.26, head coach Mr. Joel Williams pulled up Joshua Kling, Joshua Jochims, Brandon Sterri, Josiah Williams and Brian Plasencia

“I know I wasn’t gonna play that much but I was still excited to be training and be able to say I’m on varsity as a sophomore,” Williams said.

The players have been practicing with varsity and have adjusted to the team’s fast-paced play.

“The practices have a higher intensity, and there is more sense of urgency on the team.” Josh Jochims said.

The team’s first playoff game took place on Nov. 3 and they beat Vallejo 4-2. None of the younger players got in the game but they all sat on the bench and cheered on their teammates on varsity.

JV player Maverick Eaton said, “I think the younger players worked really hard for it. They’re the players that put in the most work at practice and in games and they deserved to be pulled up.”

On Nov. 5, varsity lost to Folsom 4-1 and ended their playoff run in the second round.
