Recently, I planned to go to the newly released movie “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle”  at the Studio Movie Grill. In the past, I have seen the very first “Jumanji” several times and I would definitely recommend both. This movie is for all around ages, through comedy and action, I can say I was one who very much enjoyed it.

“Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle”, directed by Jake Kasdan, is both a fantasy and also an action movie, with the overall critic rating of a three out of five. In my very own opinion, I would give it a four and a half out of five.

With the running time of an hour and 59 minutes, there was never a time where I wasn’t entertained. With much surprise, there were a lot of funny moments of the movie in which the whole theater was laughing at most jokes. As few jokes were inappropriate, they seemed to keep it on a PG 13 level.

With the lead actors including, Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, Nick Jonas, Alex Wolff,  Madison Iseman, Morgan Jeanette Turner, and Ser’Darius Blain, comedian Kevin Hart was by far my favorite with the way he always let out the jokes, as he does in real life. Though there were many fantastic actors in the original “Jumanji”, almost every actor in the new “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” I had recognized from movies and TV shows I had watched in the past.

In the film, four young high schoolers find themselves coming across a mysterious board game in the bottom of their high school. As any young teenager would do, they plug the game into a television near reach and begin playing, not knowing one board game would become a real life nightmare. One second they are in your school basement, then the next they are trapped in a video game.

There were some parts of the movie where I could relate to, for instance the character Bethany, actor Madison Iseman who then turns to be Jack Black in the game, is a teen girl who is very entertained by the media, as most are. As she is stuck in the game, she begins to complain about not being able to use her phone. I think it was a good idea the director added parts like that in because although it was quite funny, many can relate.

Though there were some who thought the first “Jumanji” was much better, both seem to bring laughter. With the roaring of jaguars and elephants in the movie, to the running of characters, it almost made you feel like you were in the game. Through the action, fantasy, and comedy of the movie I would definitely recommend “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” if you want to get a laugh!
