Whitney and Rocklin Dance IV classes come together every year to perform together on one stage in the WHS Theatre. The shows are Dec. 1 through Dec. 3 at 7 p.m., with a matinee on Dec. 3 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 for the general public, $7 for students with ASB discount and $5 for matinee.

Jillian Madden shares about the upcoming show.

Q: What are you most excited for about 4WRD?

A:  I love 4WRD because we get to dance alongside Rocklin’s Dance IV. I’m really excited to see all the dances they’ve prepared for this year’s show.

Q: What’s the best part about teaming up with Rocklin?

A:  I like working with Rocklin because all the girls are so kind and really fun to be around. Teaming up with another school is nice because we get a lot of inspiration and ideas for future dances.

Q: How many different dances are there?
A: Each school comes prepared with about 15-20 dances, and we have a few numbers that the two schools have come together to create one dance.

Q: How early do you start learning the routines?
A: We start learning our routines within the first month of school starting and we have about three weeks to learn and perfect each routine.

Q: What is your favorite dance and why?
A: My favorite dance is “Limbo.” It’s our whole class routine choreographed by Mrs. Halley Crandell. It’s super fun to perform alongside the whole class and has a really great and positive  energy to it!

Q: What are the dances based off of? Is there a theme?
A: There is no theme for 4WRD so every choreographer has creative freedom with all of the dances.

Q: What costume is your favorite, and why?
A: My favorite costume is for the dance “I Want Candy.” It’s a red and white striped top with red shorts. It’s super sassy and looks great on stage.

Q: Why should the audience come to 4WRD?
A: Everyone should come to 4WRD because all of the dances are amazing, and the dancers have put a ton of time and effort into every piece. Students will be blown away by the talent that both schools have to bring, and it should be a blast to watch.
