Breaking news! It smells like cupcakes! Kylie Jenner released a line of lipsticks and lip liners on Cyber Monday 2015 and they sold out in 30 seconds. Even now they are extremely hard to get from her website, and in the new year I was finally able to try them out.

Admittedly I did get them off of eBay, but in my defense I got two lip kits for $50; that’s $10 less than what they would have cost on Jenner’s website.

Out of her wide array of colors, mattes, glosses, etc. I was able to get two matte lipsticks in shades Candy K and Dolce K.

In regard to how long they last, I figured that the only way to really put these lipsticks to the test was to subject them to Olympic like tests of strength.

Spoiler alert! They don’t last at all if you’re planning on eating. Granted, what lipstick does? Regardless, I had a single slice of pizza while wearing the Dolce K matte lipstick and lip liner, and when I went to check on how they held up it my entire inner lip was free of lipstick and lip liner.

Although I do have to give it credit because I was sipping on a water bottles and soda bottles all day, and there were no traces of the lip color on the rims of the bottles.

As for actually wearing the lipsticks, it felt like the Sahara Desert. Although most matte lipsticks do, I would describe this one as really matte. These lipsticks make your lips feel so shriveled up and dehydrated, but they look fantastic so I’m willing to deal with it for the sake of having a great color.

These lipsticks have also been the source of nearly every compliment I’ve gotten recently.

However, it’s kind of odd when you initially put it on because the color seems to change a bit a few seconds after you finish putting it on. I’ve noticed that Dolce K tends to lighten slightly and Candy K tends to darken.

Candy K threw me for a loop initially as well. I had the idea that it would be a more subtle pink color, but it turned out to be a significantly darker pink than imagined.

Despite the emotional roller coaster of initially putting on the lipsticks, I’ve grown rather fond of them. The dry feeling really becomes an afterthought once I realize how great they look.
Although I don’t think they’re worth some of the outrageous prices seen on eBay (one went up for $800), if you can get them for a price similar to Jenner’s website they’re completely worth it.
