As the year comes to an end, some of us get ready to tan by the beach or take a vacation to Hawaii or even just binge watch our favorite shows and sleep in, but for Casey Borghesi and Connor Cook, it’s a different story, because they’re getting ready for a important musical performance. Borghesi and Cook will be performing 15 Adele songs for their “Evening of Adele” with their band on June 25 at 7:30 p.m. at the the Auburn State Theater, 985 Lincoln Way, Auburn, CA. Prices are 12 dollars for students and 16 dollars for adults.

Borghesi and Cook first prepare for their performance by setting rehearsal dates.

“We have set rehearsal dates and almost every Thursday we try to rehearse together,” Borghesi said.

Setting up rehearsals became extremely difficult as finals began to take their toll.

“The challenge is coordinating rehearsals with everyone’s crazy schedules,” Cook said.

Borghesi and Cook have worked hard to get publicity for their performance.

Last November before being given the chance to perform at the Auburn State Theater, Borghesi was given the chance to get her cover of Adele’s song “All I Ask” on iTunes, Spotify and Google Play. Borghesi’s accomplishment has now provided the opportunity for her and Cook to perform live on TV.

“We’re actually going to be on Good Day Sacramento and some other venues, so it’s very exciting,” Borghesi said.

Cook has a lot of admiration for Borghesi and their band and he knows they have nothing to worry about.

“I’ve always known her voice is something special. I’m extremely confident in everyone’s abilities,” Cook said.

As the band gets ready for their performance of an “Evening of Adele” they are faced with a few challenges.

“The biggest challenge is getting the venue and sponsors to have faith in us as performers,” Cook said.

Borghesi and Cook hope to make this performance a really fun experience.

Cook said,“I just hope we can get enough people to go, to make it a fun crowd.”
