Old Dominion amazes their Valentine’s Day crowd

Recently I went and saw “Old Dominion” in concert and was amazed at how they performed. The spectacular tone in their voices improved the quality of the show. The band interacted with their audience throughout the show and made everyone feel so loved on Valentine’s Day.

Old Dominion made a stop on their Happy Endings Tour at the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium on February 14, 2018. Along with them on this tour were two opening singers Michael Ray and Brandon Lay. Old Dominion is a five-man country band that started up in Nashville, Tennessee. Over a few years, the band has dropped two EP’s, the first one was in 2012 titled “It was Always Yours.” Then in 2014, they released a self-titled EP, “Old Dominion.” In that same year, they released their full-length studio album, “Meat and Candy.” And there newest and most popular release in 2017, “Happy Endings.”

Most of their songs are based on a guy who wants to be in a relationship with one girl, but she is already in a committed relationship with a different guy. So you can say a lot of their songs are based on a love story. Recently their songs have been very popular and gave the group their third hit on the Billboard Country Airplay charts. These top three songs are “Written in the Sand,” “Break Up with Him,” and “Song for Another Time”. Too many Old Dominion is classified as a rock country band. They are seen as the hottest band in country music, with there clever lyrics and interesting sounds.

Old Dominion played for about two hours with no breaks throughout the show. For general admission, it was around $46. Overall the show was worth paying for, they played all their songs within the two hours. There were a few breaks between each singer if you wanted to go get water or buy some of their merch. The show was mostly sold out, they had a few sections to sit in and the rest of the area was open to stand on the floor. They played a variety of their songs from when they first started up as a band to their top three songs on the Billboard Country Airplay charts. Personally, I love any kind of country song. But Old Dominion isn’t just country, they have a certain rock tone in their music that makes them different. So if you aren’t a big country fan but like rock in roll songs, I think you should take a few minutes and listen to a few of there song.
