Recipes to ‘fall’ in love with this easy-to-make apple pie

Apple pies are one of the best parts about fall. There’s a reason behind this fall classic dessert. With its flaky warm crust, perfectly sweet tasting apples, delightful cinnamon scent and perfect topping of vanilla ice cream: a piece of apple pie is the best dessert to end any meal.

Making the apple pie from scratch is a lot simpler than you may think. I, myself, am not a very good baker, but this recipe was one of the most fun desserts I have ever made and it came out great. My whole family loved it, and I guarantee you will too. Follow the recipe below to recreate your own pie.

The Recipe:

½ cup sugar

½ cup packed brown sugar

3 tablespoons all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

¼ teaspoon ground ginger

¼ teaspoon nutmeg

6-7 cups thinly sliced peeled tart apples

1 tablespoon lemon juice

Pastry for double crust pie

1 tablespoon butter

1 large egg white

Any other additional sugar
