Q: What were your first thoughts when you were nominated to be on Homecoming Court?
A: At first I thought it was a joke because I did not know I was going to be nominated at all.
Q: Who were your biggest supporters during the voting and nomination time?
A: I feel like my biggest supporters were definitely my friends. Specifically, Chelsea Osterhaut, Madeline Benson, and Mia Leach.
Q: What did they do to support you?
A: They made me feel more confident and made me feel like I could really win and it helped me feel less stressed.
Q:Who was your biggest competitor during the process?
A: My biggest competitor was Ariana Simi.
Q: Why do you think that?
A: Because she was in leadership and does multiple other activities. I just thought that it made sense for her to win.
Q: What was your thought process while picking out your outfit and dress for the rally and game?
A: I was really nervous because I had no clue that I was supposed to wear a dress to any of these things. I just wore my old middle school graduation dress, which turned out pretty well.
Q: When it was time to actually walk out, what did it feel like when you saw everyone just staring and looking at you? What was going through your mind?
A: My heart was definitely racing. I was in shock at the moment. I didn’t really believe I won.
Q: To go back to the beginning of the rally when you walked through the doors into the gym, what was going through your head?
A: I was really nervous and scared. I felt eyes all on us. I was scared I was gonna trip or fall.
Q: What happened in the castle before you walked out? What was behind the scenes?
A: We were all crowded inside the castle and we were all in a line. Five seconds before they announced it, they pulled us out and said come here and we walked out.
Q: Standing in front of the whole school, who was looking at you, what was going through your head?
A: I definitely felt like my face was red, because I was really hot. I was just very nervous, but it felt pretty good going back to the stands.
Q: What was it like riding in the back of the convertible, having to smile and wave in front of everybody in the students section?
A: It was really fun. I loved sitting in a pretty cool car and then riding around the track. Cheering was really fun.
Q: Was it cool to see behind the scenes on how homecoming royalty and all that actually, like, works?
A: Yeah, I thought it was pretty cool. I never really knew how it worked because I’ve never been in leadership. But it was really cool to see.
Q: Was there anyone specific that you were looking at in the crowd when you were either in the convertible or at the rally?
A: I was definitely looking at my friends and my parents because they were the ones that were cheering the loudest and my eyes were just drawn towards them.
