Q: What sports do you see yourself playing in your future as a wildcat, and why?
A: I would play soccer and lacrosse, because I started soccer when I was a little boy and then I played lacrosse as soon as the youth program came out.
Q: Since you said you started playing sports at a young age, what drew you into sports like soccer and lacrosse when you were a kid?
A: I think it was the freedom. You could do what you want and it’s not like any other sport. And I think the way people can draw out plays is pretty cool. After three years, I just realized that they were fun to play and after three years I put a lot of time into this; I’ll stick with it.
Q: As a freshman, with the sports you’ve been playing and the sports you’ve played in the past, how has schoolwork gotten in the way of playing sports?
A: I have to take time away from practicing outside school. But, it hasn’t really affected me too much if I just manage my time correctly and don’t procrastinate.
Q: You say you have to take time out of one or the other, so how do you truly manage to fit all these things into your schedule? It seems like you’re doing a lot here at Whitney.
A: I kind of let whatever happens go with the flow. I’ll set up a calendar, make sure I reach out to people if I miss something. And when I’m doing my homework, I just try to hone in on that.
Q: After high school, do you still plan on playing soccer and lacrosse, or do you have other plans?
A: I think I’ll probably play, but only recreationally. I’d rather focus more of my time studying rather than sports, because I don’t think I’ll want to play professionally.
