He preaches that upon his election, he will serve to “make America great again,” but if Donald Trump is in fact Obama’s successor, America will fall more along the lines of a riotous war zone with an economy in despair.

I was never really into politics until this year, being that I was too young to understand what was going on in the 2012 presidential election. But with the magnified drama of this race, especially on platforms such as social media that teens like me are constantly using, I was naturally drawn to it. After watching three GOP debates and keeping up with daily campaign news, I can say with confidence that Donald Trump is an embarrassment to America and is heavily underqualified to be the next U.S. president.

He embraces political incorrectness and outspoken beliefs, which aren’t necessarily bad in the scope of things, but he takes brashness to a whole new level. Without thinking twice, Trump has made brutal public statements criticizing overweight people, objectifying women for their looks and using derogatory language in regards to race, intelligence and sex.

Even if America could overlook his despicable vernacular, the reforms that he would enact would cause an uproar in the country. Trump plans to immediately repeal Obamacare, deport 11 million Mexican immigrants, ban abortion and carpet bomb the Middle East, all endeavors that would end disastrously. He makes it sound as if he could carry out these procedures with ease, because none of them directly affect him, but he doesn’t realize the trouble he would be causing for the millions of citizens that do depend on these matters.

When it comes down to it, the ideals that Donald Trump boasts are simply not reasonable for the American people. The fact that he is gaining popularity across the country and winning the majority of the Republican primary votes baffles me. I can’t wrap my head around any sensible person’s logic in seeing Trump as capable of running the free world for four years, God forbid eight.

It pains me that I don’t have a say in whether or not he gets to take office in 2017, so all I can do is pray that America opens their eyes and votes for anybody but Trump to be the next president of the United States.
