The men’s varsity volleyball team triumphed in winning all three rounds against Oakmont on April 21.

Both Armin Savoji and Gabe Worthington are seniors this year, yet they only started playing volleyball this season.

“For their first year playing volleyball they have caught on and learned really quickly. They have totally embraced the volleyball atmosphere to the team. Not only that but they are leaders on the bench and are some of the only ones who are able to pick up any player when they are down. They contribute a lot and always try their hardest and it motivates other players to work hard,” Matthew Honberger said.

It took a while for them to get used to the environment but after a little bit they got the hang of it.

“It was kind of hard transitioning on to the team because a lot of people on the team are really good, but I’m learning more and more everyday. When I found out I made varsity I was really excited because I didn’t think it would happen, ”Worthington said.

The support of the team helped with bonding and making a fun experience for Worthington and Savoji.

“We have really good team bonding, and we are all very supportive of each other, which really helps bond us together and make the whole experience more fun for everyone on the team,” Savoji said.

Having Savoji and Worthington on the team has brought up the energy level, the next volleyball game will be May 10 against the Pleasant Grove Highschool at 6 p.m.
