The Truth Behind Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga is not only known for “Poker Face” and “Paparazzi”. She’s also known for wearing crazy outfits. But not just to her concerts or for her shows. This lady wears her crazy ensembles every day no matter where she is.
I know what you’re thinking. She wants to just get attention by wearing strange dresses, hats, and sunglasses. But the truth is, when Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta created the character of Lady Gaga, she intended for this alter-ego of hers to shock everyone everyday by dressing out of the norm. And when I say out of the norm, I mean extremely out of the norm. The purpose is not to get attention, but rather to express herself and let everyone know that she doesn’t care what they think.
She didn’t always have the cash and connections to dress like this everyday, but that didn’t stop her from trying. Back in the day, before “Just Dance,” she would perform at clubs in New York.
“I had more of a beer budget, you know?… So I used to just buy rhinestones and all kinds of beads and find things in my apartment that were cool, and I would glue them onto $3 bras from Conway,” says Gaga on the Paul O’Grady show.
Gaga had to use her creativity to create her outfits. She’s never been a regular woman. But now that she has a bit more cash and a lot of new connections, she wears pieces from Jean Paul Gaultier, Kiko of London, Christan Siriano, and a lot of other different designers.
Gaga also said on “The Fit” that Catwalk, a vintage boutique in Los Angeles is her favorite place to shop. It’s where she gets Yves Saint Laurent jackets, catsuits, and funky sunglasses that she later alters with rhinestones and glitter.
She also is the founder of “Haus of Gaga,” which everyone thinks is just a cool saying that they used in the “LoveGame” music video, but it’s the name of the group of her friends who help her with creating her shows. They help design her crazy outfits and put them together for her. She’s created some of her outfits all by herself as well.
But “LoveGame” isn’t the first music video of hers to promote Lady Gaga fashion. The “Bad Romance” video promotes the crazy lobster claw-like shoes from the Alexander McQueen Paris fashion show. And her infamous Beats by Dre Heartbeats Headphones are featured in the bathtub scene in the video.
This lady is a creative inspiration. And she wasn’t lying when sang “I pray the fame won’t take my life”. She states through many of her songs that even though she has champagne taste, she doesn’t need money and expensive things to make her happy. She won’t let the spotlight change her. She wants to focus on making her fans happy and creating her art.
On the Paul O’ Grady show, Gaga said, “I spend every dollar I make on my show. I don’t care about money. I don’t want Range Rovers or condos or any of that. I want props and fashion!”
So before you say she’s crazy, just remember. It’s all for the fans and not for The Fame. She’s out to change the pop world, one sequin at a time.
