Though it is getting warmer, the Frozen soundtrack is cooler than ice. The movie “Frozen” is about a fearless girl named Anna who goes on a mission with the rugged mountaineer Kristoff and a magical snowman named Olaf to find Anna’s lost sister in the kingdom that is trapped in an eternal winter, and the movie’s music was a key piece to making it fantastic.

The “Frozen” album contains 32 songs, with songs ranging from 50 seconds to more than three minutes long. The genre for this movie is definitely a pop-broadway mashup that blends together perfectly. Idina Menzel’s theatrical sound and Kristen Bell’s Disney voice makes this movie worth singing about. Surprisingly, the album is only $9.99, which is insane, because the songs are absolutely priceless.

“Frozen” is filled with enchanting and upbeat songs that make it one of my favorite Disney movies.

“Do You Want to Build a Snowman” was a melancholy song that had a lot of meaning to it. At first, the song starts off with a little girl, singing very adorably, giving the song a cute start, but of course, the song ends off with a sad ending. Comparing this song to the other songs in “Frozen”, this one wasn’t a total disaster, since the song gives off a happy beat, but it didn’t make me want to cry over the sad ending either.

“For the First Time in Forever” is a song that you would catch yourself singing to. This song is worth belting out in the shower. In the first half of the song, Kristen Bell, (voice actor of Anna), gives off an angelic tone of her character, just how a Disney princess should. The other half of the song is sung by Broadway star Idina Menzel (voice actor of Elsa). Her vocal confidence comes into the song clearly.

“Love is an Open Door” is a duet with the charming Hans, (voiced by Santino Fontana), and Anna. Truthfully, the song disappointed me. I compare most Disney movies to the current ones, and in “Tangled”, the duet with Rapunzel and Flynn Rider impressed me more than Hans and Anna’s duet in “Frozen”. Their voices together were mediocre, also making me slightly bored. I feel like the song is overrated and overplayed, but overall the song is great.

“Let It Go” is definitely my favorite song out of all the songs on the album. It’s one of those songs where you just want to belt it out loud when you hear it. There are two versions of this song, one sung by Demi Lovato and one sung by Idina Menzel. There has been some heat between the two versions of these songs. Some people liked Demi Lovato singing the song better, and some people liked Idina Menzel’s version better. All I know is that it’s been 50/50. In my personal opinion, I liked Demi’s version. I still remember her as the girl on “Camp Rock” and in “Sonny With A Chance”, but now I can hear that she has gotten a lot better since then. Personally, I think Lovato has a better sound to her voice than Menzel does. I do understand why people would pick Menzel’s version better, since she has a way better vocal range than Lovato, and she has also had more time to practice on her singing. Overall, the song itself had a powerful message to it that really attracted many listeners.

Overall, the album is worth the buy. The album is loaded with duets and lots of upbeat songs that also want to make you belt out. The “Frozen” album is easily one of the best albums Disney had made. It’s only $9.99, so get it because it’s cheap.
