#000000#ffffff is #worththetime
Jams that really grab our attention are the ones we put on replay. I’m really just hip-hop kind of chick but when I listened to The Neighbourhood’s mix tape #000000#ffffff, also known and Black and White on Soundcloud, alternative music began to fill up my playlist. never would I have ever thought a not so well known mix tape could change my ways.
Sweater Weather is a popular song from the group; its not in the mixtape though. It features different types of music: alternative and rap, and consists of six songs.
“We want to give music back to the people, back to how the dudes in hip hop do it, they give it back to the streets,” the lead singer Jesse Rutherford comments on the purpose.
Truly he make a statement by adding, “Everybody should put out free music, sell yourself, not music. The music is the vessel, the music is your truth, the music gives you a reason to be something”.
The song “lurk” is a personal favorite; it delivers the typical rap song message but in a mysterious manner. “Jealou$y” has more of a Rap kind of vibe, it features Casey Veggies and The Hundreds. I’m not one for just instrumental but “Silver” has one peculiar line that repeats occasionally: Silver eyes, Hoping for paradise’ I’ve seen it a million times,Cry so you don’t get bored with just the background. “H8M4CH1N3” is another merge with alternative and rap featuring Danny Brown. “Unfair” is very different and is my least favorite because its all alternative instrumental, but we all have different tastes in music.
If you are looking for something different and outside of the box I’d recommend this mixtape on soundcloud. Try something new.

![On the stage, Daniel Bozinovski and Rachel Treto play their part as Tom and Hannah in the show “The Cast List”. The show was about a group of students who were told about their cast list for the play “Romeo and Juliet.” The Theater I students were in preparation for their first showcase of the year. Students went over their lines during all of their class for the past two months. “[We put in] a lot of rehearsal, practicing lines, making sure you have everything memorized and making sure you are ready to go in and not forget anything,” Nathan Weeks said.
