Hit app Stop becomes widely popular among Apple, Android users
A new hit app, Stop, has recently taken over many people’s phones. This game connects users in a time controlled game that forces players to think about different words that fit into several categories.
To play the game, the user is given five categories and a single letter. If the user is given the letter B, the user must think of words that only start with the letter B for each category. For example, if a user is given the letter B, and one of the categories is “Boys Names,” then for the user to obtain points, they must submit names such as Ben or Bryan.
“The game is so addicting because like any game it has a timer and an opponent but it’s especially fun to have all of your friends play it with you and to see the different words you can come up with under pressure,” Natalie Monroe said.
Monroe heard of the game from other players talking about it. Although this game has just recently blown up through Apple and Android app stores, it’s been around since 2014.
“I usually don’t download games because I thought it was just another Flappy Bird game, but everyone around me was glued to their phones on this app so I decided to try it out and I love it,” Kelani Learson said.
Learson is not the only one who has fallen in love with the game. Stop has gotten more than 1,000 five-star reviews and more than 300 four-star reviews from users. Although Stop has become addicting for many people, it hasn’t made itself onto everybody’s phone.
“The game is just a waste of space on my phone and I don’t really see the need for it. A lot of my friends have become addicted to it but it takes too long to play the game,” Kymaya Wallace said.
Stop has become a popular game around the world and is still being downloaded today on Apple and Android phones.

The show was about a group of students who were told about their cast list for the play “Romeo and Juliet.” The Theater I students were in preparation for their first showcase of the year. Students went over their lines during all of their class for the past two months. “[We put in] a lot of rehearsal, practicing lines, making sure you have everything memorized and making sure you are ready to go in and not forget anything,” Nathan Weeks said.
