Among other things, songs full of rock and emotion have found their way to the new album Sounds Good Feels Good, 5 Seconds of Summer still knows how to melt every heart in the “5SOS” fan base.

It’s all very agreeable that 5 Seconds of Summer went on a “Permanent Vacation  for a few months without a new album. In my opinion, this album was way overdue. The new album was released on Oct. 23 to iTunes and immediately 5SOS fans all over the world rushed to buy the whole album. 2015’s Sounds Good Feels Good album definitely lives up to its title.  The evidence is sung throughout the music on the album. Listeners may think they know 5 Seconds of Summer but in this new album, the boys really lean away from all the love songs that melt all of our hearts and start heading into punk-rock songs that just make you want to dance and sing right along.

Although songs like “Jet Black Heart” and “Waste the Night” can tie into the band’s Number 1 Hit “Amnesia”, the songs are different and add a bit of edge to their usual heart throbbing lyrics. With lyrics such as “These chemicals moving between us are the reason to start again”, who wouldn’t want to listen to the song multiple times after the first? The rest of the album with songs such as, “She’s Kinda Hot”, “San Francisco” and “Moneywill make you want to jam out in your pajamas along to the upbeat rhythm and the sound of an electric guitar coming together with the drums in the background . One of the prodigious things that 5SOS did with this new album is they created more length to the album. Each song has enough time for us listeners to fall almost in love with 5SOS all over again.

5 Seconds of Summer spoke to Variety about how their new album is leading “5SOS” fans to a “Cool Revolution”. In Australia, which is the band’s homeland, the new album sold 16,150 albums within the week that it appeared in stores. In America, the album sold 179,000 copies during Oct. 23 – Oct. 29. 5 Seconds of Summer made 179K from sales in a matter of weeks.

From circling the globe about 40 times, to winning numerous awards,  to the huge Rock Out With Your Socks Out Tour, it’s incredibly amazing how the boys have even had time to write and record such a popular and national widespread album. It’s beyond a reasonable doubt that once you listen to the full album Sounds Good Feels Good you will just want to listen to it multiple times after the first.
